ATELIER OLSCHINSKY / PORTFOLIO

  • i am going to be completely honest — i think it is excessive. it’s almost difficult to look at the images. the compositions are visually interesting enough that this sort of gimmickry with post-process is unnecessary. you are a fine photographer, yan, so i’d be curious to hear your thoughts.

for discussion purposes only, i offer the following alternative interpretations:

    Thanks for your message !
Well, I must say you’re right. It’s just over-processed, like putting all the photoshop settings to the max.
Maybe we have seen to many vintage effects on classic car shots…
I’m just fed up with vignetting (not to talk about fake vignetting) and the “toy camera effects”. Lomography is so 2003.
But the Europa picture is just great.

I kinda like them. I mean, we all agree on the fact that the vintage aesthetic has been over-used for the past couple of years. And when it comes to automobile photography these effects are often used to compensate the medium to bad quality of composition/lighting/subject.

Here the photos are great to begin with. So the post-processing doesn’t take much of their qualities away. Sure it’s over the top and it looks like the photographer has used every option available in Photoshop and Lightroom combined but the composition remains the same, as the lighting, etc…
