We are not the biggest fans of classic car shows. Cars are made to be driven, not kept static as framed butterflies. But it’s always a good opportunity to shoot some pictures. Here are our best picks of the 2018 Paris week.
Alpine displayed it’s complete line-up of ’78 Le Mans cars, including the one that won the race, as a celebration of the 40 th anniversary of the brand’s only victory. Rétromobile also marked Renault’s 120 th birthday and amongst the cars on display, we noticed this cute little electric R5.
The most spectacular display was certainly Richard Mille’s, with an incredible selection of McLaren cars.
Another beauty at Lamborghini Polo Storico, the chassis and body of a Contach Periscopo, currently undergoing restauration.
Above, a small selection of the coolest cars seen at Artcurial. Unfortunately, due to poor lighting we only have a few decent pictures to offer… Luckily, conditions were better at RM Sotheby’s, with an exhibition held in a huge tent on the footstep of the Invalide’s church.
But none of what of these two auction houses had put together was a rival to the mesmirizing selection of cars that Bonhams had lined up under the glasshouse of the Grand Palais.
